After starting out as a place for classic TV sit-com episodes, TV Land evolved to include a lot of original programs. While you can still watch old favorites like Everybody Loves Raymond, you can also stream original shows like Hot in Cleveland. And you don’t need cable to do so. Read on to learn how.

- Fubo: With 150+ channels, it offers something for everyone. Fubo allows you to try out its service with a free trial!
- Philo: Super inexpensive live TV streaming service with 7-day free trial.

Table Of Contents
TV Land launched in 1996 as a 24-hour version of Nickelodeon’s nighttime programming, Nick at Nite. Its original lineup featured a wide variety of classic television series from 1950 through 1990.
In 2010, it debuted its first original show, the hit sitcom Hot in Cleveland. Since then, TV Land has kept the classic programming during the day and reserved primetime for its original series and more recent syndications from the nineties.
If you want to cut the cord but keep the nostalgia train chuggin’ through your house, you’ll be happy to know you don’t need cable to hear the wholesomely reassuring whistling theme of The Andy Griffith Show. Read on to find out how you can keep TV Land while leaving traditional cable in the past.
How to Watch TV Land Live Without Cable
TV Land is owned by Paramount Global (formerly ViacomCBS), making it a sister station of Nickelodeon, MTV, Comedy Central, BET, CBS, CMT, The CW, Dabl, Logo, Paramount Network, Pop TV, Showtime, Smithsonian Channel, and VH1. Whew!
But if you’re into classic TV and movies, there’s plenty more out there. Besides TV Land, for general entertainment, there’s Classic Reruns, NBCUniversal’s Cozi TV, FETV, and Sony’s getTV.
For comedy, there’s Laff; you can watch classic cartoons on Boomerang; if game shows are more your thing (big bucks, no whammies!), you can always tune into Game Show Network (GSN). Turner Classic Movies (TCM) has the silver screen oldies, and Grit and Heroes & Icons feature vintage adventure, action, and western movies.
You can’t get TV Land with an antenna; it’s only available with a pay-TV subscription. OTT (over the top) streaming services provide an alternative to traditional cable or satellite by offering the same channels. They also don’t have a bunch of fees added on and don’t lock you into a contract for years at a time.
Unblock Your Favorite Movies and Shows With a VPN
If you can’t watch your favorite movies and shows because of your location, a VPN will allow you to get the access you are entitled to, plus extra security and unequalled privacy. Check out our VPN Guide for everything you need to know, including our top pick ExpressVPN.
Other brands worth checking out include Hotspot Shield and CyberGhost.
Streaming Services With TV Land
Which OTT services carry TV Land? That’s a trick question; all of them do! Seriously, every major streaming service has TV Land. So you really can’t go wrong.
How much golden oldie goodness can you handle? Some services have more stations with vintage programming than others.
FuboTV
Do you like sports as well as retro TV? Then FuboTV is the service for you! It’s got over 110 channels in its base package, at least a third of which are bona fide 24/7 sports channels.
What else comes in the Pro package? TV Land of course! Also Cozi TV (NBCUniversal’s classic TV station), getTV (Sony’s), Comet TV, and VH1. If you go for the Extra add-on ($7.99/mo), you also get Game Show Network and MTV Classic, because you know you love to party like it’s 1985.
Fubo’s Starter tier is $79.99/mo, 1000 hours of Cloud DVR storage, and streaming on up to 10 devices.
Find out more in our FuboTV review.
Philo
Philo offers over 60 channels for just $25/mo. This comes with unlimited cloud DVR and up to 3 simultaneous streams. It is the clear value winner here.
Included in their service are GSN, getTV, MTV Classic, and Nick at Nite/Nickelodeon. If you are just looking for basic programming, Try Philo free for 7 days.
Our Philo review has all the details.
Sling TV
Sling TV has affordable base packages for $40.00/mo singly or $50 per month together. You can then customize your channel lineup with “Extras,” packages of 5-12 channels, most of which are just $6 per month. You can get four of the most popular Extras for $13 per month, or all available Extras for $21 per month.
TV Land is available in Sling’s Comedy Extra add-on, which also contains FETV, Laff, and Game Show Network, plus TV Land’s ViacomCBS sister-channels CMT, Logo, MTV, and Paramount Network.
You also may want to consider the Hollywood Extra, which includes Grit and Heroes & Icons (classic adventure and western shows and movies) and Turner Classic Movies.
Save 50% on your first month of Sling TV. See our Sling TV review for all the details.
DIRECTV STREAM
DIRECTV STREAM (formerly AT&T TV) is another streaming service that just doesn’t seem to have left its heart in the past. All packages have the big nostalgia channels: TCM, GSN, Boomerang, Nickelodeon (for Nick at Nite), and of course, TV Land. But they don’t have any channels dedicated to all classic TV, like Cozi TV or Classic Reruns.
On the plus side, you do get all your local channels included, plus you can stream on unlimited devices at a time, which, if you have a big family is nothing to sneeze at.
DIRECTV STREAM starts at $79.99/mo for the Entertainment base package, which has over 75 channels. New customers get a 5-day free trial with DIRECTV STREAM.

Hulu + Live TV
Hulu + Live TV is a great overall entertainment service with its outstanding on-demand library and 85+ live channels. But classic TV isn’t a Hulu focus. They do have TV Land, along with its parent-channel Nickelodeon.
They also have Cozi TV, Boomerang, and Turner Classic Movies. But that’s about all in the nostalgia vein; they don’t even have Game Show Network.
Hulu Live costs $76.99/mo but that includes Disney+ and ESPN+. And you get unlimited Cloud DVR with 9 months of storage and can stream on up to 2 screens at a time. See our Hulu + Live TV review for details.
Vidgo
Vidgo is an excellent choice if you want a low-cost service with a simple plan. It is just $69.99/mo for over 100 channels, which includes TV Land, Classic Reruns, FETV, GSN, getTV, and MTV Classic. If reruns of the oldies-but-goodies are your thing, it’s a pretty good deal.
A potential drawback is that Vidgo doesn’t have a cloud DVR option, but, hey, you’ve seen all these before anyway, right? They do provide the ability to watch on 3 devices at the same time so if your house is divided on what to watch, it isn’t a problem.
Try one month for $20. Learn more in our Vidgo review
Other Ways to Stream TV Land
There are still other ways to watch TV Land without cable:
- TV Land is also available to stream live from YouTube TV, which offers a similar plan to Hulu for $64.99/mo.
- You can watch TV Land original series The Exes, Happily Divorced, Younger, The Soul Man, The Jim Gaffigan Show, and Retired at 35 on Paramount+, Paramount Global’s on demand streaming service. It’s not live, but it’s also only $4.99 a month.
- You can watch TV Land on TVLand.com, but it requires a TV provider login.
Superpower Your Live TV Streaming With a VPN
You can’t beat a VPN for privacy, security, and access. We have used them for years as an important part of our streaming toolkit and we recommend ExpressVPN. Other brands worth checking out include Hotspot Shield and CyberGhost.
